How to set up IPTV on a Firestick, step by step

The Amazon Fire TV Stick is the most common way to watch IPTV on a TV in the USA and Canada. It is inexpensive, plugs into any HDMI port and works with every mainstream IPTV player.

Setup takes about ten minutes. You need the Firestick connected to the internet and your login details: a server, username and password, which appear in your dashboard as soon as you start a free 24-hour trial.

Step 1: install the Downloader app

  1. On the home screen, open Find (the magnifying glass) and search for Downloader.
  2. Select the Downloader app, which has an orange icon, and choose Get or Download.
  3. Open it once, and allow access to files if it asks.

Step 2: let Downloader install apps

  1. Go back to the home screen and open Settings, then My Fire TV.
  2. If you don’t see Developer options, open About, highlight your device name and press the select button seven times, until a message says you are now a developer. Go back one screen.
  3. Open Developer options, then Install unknown apps, and switch Downloader on. On older Firesticks the setting is called Apps from Unknown Sources.

Step 3: install VividoPlayer

  1. Open Downloader. In the address box, type vividoplayer.com and select Go.
  2. Follow the download link on that page, and choose Install when the Firestick asks.
  3. When it finishes, choose Done. Downloader offers to delete the installer file; you can, it is no longer needed.

Step 4: sign in with your login

  1. Open VividoPlayer and choose Add Playlist.
  2. Pick Xtream Codes API.
  3. Enter the server, username and password from your Gabo365 dashboard exactly as they are written. They are case-sensitive.
  4. Save. Channels, films, series and the TV guide load on their own; the first load can take a minute.

If something goes wrong

  • “Invalid login”: type the details again slowly, checking for a space at the end and for the difference between l, I and 1.
  • Downloader won’t install the app: go back to Step 2. Install unknown apps must be switched on for Downloader.
  • The TV guide is empty or hours out: give it a few minutes to load, then set the EPG time offset in the player’s settings.

Using more than one Firestick

Repeat the steps on each Firestick with the same login. You can install on as many as you like; your plan sets how many can stream at the same moment.

Questions and answers

Is VividoPlayer free to install?
Yes. VividoPlayer is free to install on Fire TV. You sign in with your own IPTV login.
Can I use a different player on a Firestick?
Yes. Any player that accepts Xtream Codes or an M3U playlist works, including TiviMate and IPTV Smarters Pro. We recommend VividoPlayer because it is the one our setup help is written for.
Does this work on a Fire TV Cube or a Fire TV smart TV?
Yes. The steps are the same on every Fire TV device, including the Cube and TVs with Fire TV built in.
Do I need a VPN on my Firestick?
No. It works without one on most connections. If your internet provider ever interferes with streaming, contact support.
